Visual Fun: XYX [Part I]

As some of you read on one of my previous posts, Monofonus Press will be releasing the last works of XYX later this year. That was the last formal project I made music with but guess what? Now I get to make the the album artwork! Not only that, but there is also a zine for it that was just released. I was in charge of the visual part of this project while Mou, band mate, cooked the sounds in the oven. In the meantime, I made a journal for your delight. I cropped and published some of my pre-mixed imagery for the zine. Ready?

Day one.
January 23rd, 1:30 PM
Started with my favorite song, Viajero Negro. I knew this one would help set the mood. Dark and schizophrenic. This song is about a Science Fiction writer. Vago en mis sueños preguntando y con los ojos voy pescando ideales siderales.

Viajero Negro
Day two.
January 24th, 10:45 AM
This is the most fun ever. Next song: 77 días. Incredibly dreamy. I wrote this song in a time of my life where I was taking blotters every other day. This is its anthem. Cada tercer día es lo que yo reclamo.

77 días
Day three.
January 25th, 8:22 PM
Desierto is one of the last songs I wrote with XYX and has some of my favorite lyrics. This one is about a 7 year long dream in a very dark cave. Caí al desierto al brincar de la ventana.

Desierto

Day four.
January 26th, 4:50 PM
Tons of coffee. Was able to work for only a couple of hours on Olacuario. This one is about an endless panic attack. Yes, it also makes a reference of Aquarius. Cuenta las olas, los pliegues del mar. Te ahoga la soga de la infinidad.

Day five.
January 27th, 9:20 AM
Stuck with Olacuario. Something is wrong.

Day six.
January 28th, 11 PM
Saturday hangover. Got taco power from my favorite taqueria in East Austin. It didn't work, nor did the coffee, or vitamin C boost I took. I was not able to do anything about Olacurio, so I took cat naps while The Husband played some documentaries in the living room. A home made pizza party got me on my way after waking up. Once back in my fort, I did a few more tweaks on Olacuario, and decided to move on. Sobrenada is next.
